Durham Region Municipalities Come Together to Support Hunger Action Month
Drop off non-perishable foods at participating facilities or donate online from September 1 to 28.
The City of Oshawa, the Region of Durham and other area municipalities are partnering once again in support of National Hunger Action Month this September to raise awareness, food donations and funds to fight hunger in the community.
As Durham’s population grows and food prices rise, more individuals, families and seniors are relying on food banks and related services than ever before. To help address this need in our community, the City, Region and municipal partners are taking action together.
From September 1 to 28, donation bins will be available at Oshawa City Hall, recreation facilities and fire halls, as well as at the Oshawa Senior Community Centres John Street Branch. A full list of Oshawa's drop-off locations is available at oshawa.ca/FeedTheNeed.
Residents, businesses and community groups can also donate at locations in neighbouring municipalities:

Residents can also make an impact by donating online. For every $1 donated, Feed the Need in Durham can collect, store, and distribute two meals and other essential products to people in need.
Feed the Need is always on the lookout for volunteers who want to make a positive difference in our communities. Consider a donation of time another way to give back and support Hunger Action Month.
