Durham Region Notice: Envision Durham: staff recommendations on Alternative Land Need Scenarios now available
The Region of Durham has released staff recommendations on Alternative Land Need Scenarios intended to inform decisions on how housing, population and employment growth can be accommodated across the Region.
The alternative land need scenarios are a component of the Land Needs Assessment (L.N.A.). The LNA is the first part of Durham Region’s Growth Management Study (G.M.S.) under Envision Durham, which is the Municipal Comprehensive Review of the Regional Official Plan. The preparation of an L.N.A. quantifies the amount of Settlement Area Boundary Expansion that will be required to accommodate future population and employment growth to the year 2051.
What: To complete the first phase of the G.M.S., recommendations on Alternative Land Need Scenarios are now available.
When: The report will be considered at the Regional Planning and Economic Development Committee meeting on May 3 at 9:30 a.m. For information about how to make a delegation before committee, or to view the live stream, visit durham.ca/EnvisionDurham.
Where: The Regional staff recommendations on Alternative Land Need Scenarios report is available at durham.ca/EnvisionDurham.
Note: As Durham Regional Council’s core planning document, the Regional Official Plan guides decision-making on long-term growth and development.
Envision Durham is an opportunity to deliver a new forward-looking official plan that will guide growth and change in Durham in the years ahead – providing the blueprint for Durham to become known as the place to live, learn and thrive by 2051.
