Free drop-in playground program returns to Oshawa parks this summer
Summer playground programs are coming to a neighbourhood park near you beginning Wednesday, July 2. Children aged 5 to 12 are invited to participate in our Drop-in Playground Program, which offers a free, summer camp experience featuring games, crafts, songs, and other engaging activities led by trained Play Leaders. In addition, our Preschool Playground Program is available for children aged 3 to 5, operating twice weekly at select locations. Parent/guardian participation is required.
On-site registration will take place at each park location on the first day a child attends. Parents and guardians are reminded to ensure their children wear sunscreen, a hat, and bring a filled water bottle each day.
A complete list of participating park locations, as well as information regarding weather-related adjustments or program cancellations, can be found at oshawa.ca/Play. During heat alerts, programming may be modified to include more shaded, passive activities with frequent breaks.
Summer playground programs are offered in partnership with Their Opportunity and are generously sponsored by Midway Nissan. To learn more visit oshawa.ca/Play or contact the Playground Program Staff Office (beginning June 23) at 905-436-3311 ext. 2033.
