The City of Oshawa is introducing a new business licensing system for short-term rental operators renting their properties in the city.
Short-term rentals (S.T.R.) are properties rented out as temporary accommodations on S.T.R. company websites or apps. Examples are Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway.
The S.T.R. Operator business licensing system is intended to:
- Enhance the Zoning By-law provisions that:

The City of Oshawa extends our condolences to the family of hockey legend Dale Hawerchuk who passed away today after courageously battling cancer.
Dale Hawerchuk grew up in Oshawa, attending Woodcrest Public School and later Donevan High School. Mr. Hawerchuk made his mark on local hockey as a leading member of Oshawa Minor Hockey Association, Oshawa Legionaires and Oshawa Kinsmen teams.

Oshawa’s trail system provides more than 27 kilometres of paved surface for community members to enjoy. Our trails offer excellent opportunities for outdoor physical activities like walking, running, and cycling.
