Construction on Mary St. for watermain replacement

The Regional Municipality of Durham will begin construction for the replacement of the watermain, sanitary sewer and services on Mary St. from Rossland Rd. East to 150 metres north of Robert St. Works will include restoration of all disturbed areas and full asphalt removal and replacement.
Construction schedule
The Region’s contractor, Trisan Construction Ltd., will begin mobilizing the week of April 29, 2024 and anticipates completing the work by September 2025.

On April 28, the City of Oshawa will join communities and organizations in observing National Day of Mourning to remember those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness at work.
On Sunday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at City Hall (North Parkette), the City will honour workers who have died, were injured, or became ill from their job. The City will lower the Day of Mourning Flag at City Hall and flags will fly at half-mast at City facilities.

Oshawa & GM Canada commemorate donation of McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve & Fenelon/Venus Park

To celebrate Earth Week, GM Canada president and managing director, Kristian Aquilina, Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter, and members of City Council came together to memorialize the official land donation of McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve and Fenelon/Venus Park to the Oshawa community by planting a native Hackberry tree near McLaughlin Bay’s waterfront trail.
