City of Oshawa and Trent University to offer financial support to Oshawa students in need

The City of Oshawa and Trent University have created a dedicated endowment fund to provide support to Oshawa students attending the University’s Durham GTA campus.
Beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year, the City of Oshawa Student Bursaries Endowment Fund will support students who reside in Oshawa, are enrolled at Trent University Durham GTA and have demonstrated socio-economic need.

The City of Oshawa is pleased to announce the launch of the first ever Community Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, as a key deliverable of the City’s Diversity and Inclusion Plan. The Committee hosted its inaugural virtual meeting on June 25, 2020.

The City of Oshawa continues a strong year for building activity in 2020, with June hitting a new record for industrial construction value.
In June 2020, the City of Oshawa Issued $82,514,800 in total construction value, consisting of:
- $ 62,930,400 in Industrial construction value,
- $ 9,951,500 in Residential,
- $ 9,604,500 in Commercial,
- $ 28,400 in Governmental/Institutional.
- Issued 96 building permits,
- Issued 26 Residential units (10 semi-detached, 9 accessory dwellings, 7 singles),
- Added 52,380 m2
