Call for Artists: Art & Culture in the Hall Centennial Art Exhibitions
In 2024, the City of Oshawa is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a city. In honour of this milestone, the City is inviting local artists to submit proposals for temporary exhibitions to be displayed at Art & Culture in the Hall located outside Council Chambers at City Hall.
We are seeking artworks and exhibition projects that celebrate the people, places, and milestones that connect to the area known as Oshawa, its history, present, and/or future, in honour of the City’s 100th anniversary. The exhibitions will be on display from September 2024 to January 2025.
Up to four artists will be selected to exhibit at Art & Culture in the Hall. All forms of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art, including multidisciplinary artworks, are eligible for submission. Submissions will be accepted until 12 p.m. on April 2, 2024.
A selection committee consisting of representatives from the City’s Cultural Leadership Council and Community Centennial Committee will review the submissions. The applicants will be chosen based on creativity, relevance to the City’s history and identity and artistic merit.
