Events in the Park offers evening entertainment throughout the City
The City of Oshawa announces its lineup of talented artists who will perform this summer as part of the Events in the Park entertainment series presented by TD Bank. Kicking off the summer lineup will be musicians Durham Street - Classic Rock Revival on Thursday, July 6 at 7 p.m. at Lakeview Park (55 Lakeview Park Ave, behind the Jubilee Pavilion).
Throughout the summer, attendees will be treated to performances highlighting a variety of genres of music including, classic rock, R&B, Motown and, as well as the addition of two live theatre nights. Community members are encouraged to check out the complete schedule online for more details on who is performing and where.
New in 2023
The City of Oshawa is excited to be offering programming at the new Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park located at 169 Harbour Rd. On August 15 and 16, Driftwood Theatre Group will be performing “Living With Shakespeare” by D. Jeremy Smith and Steven Gallagher from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy this lakeside performance.
The community is also invited to enjoy a movie under the stars. Bring your snacks and chairs and settle in for the movies this summer held throughout the City including:
- Thursday, July 20 - Encanto
Location: Columbus Park (3265 Simcoe St. N.); and - Wednesday, July 26 - How to Train Your Dragon
Location: Airmen’s Park (1200 Stevenson Rd. N.).
The movies at each location will start at dusk (expected to be around 8:30 p.m.), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
In addition to Events in the Park, the Memorial Park Bandshell will host performances by the Oshawa Civic Band on Wednesday, July 19, August 9 and August 30 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Events in the Park web page.
