Radar Message Board Program in your neighbourhood

In 2020, the City of Oshawa introduced the Council Directed Radar Message Board Program to improve road safety on local streets with reported speeding concerns.
Things to know:
- Each Radar Message Board Device is equipped with radar technology to detect the speed of approaching vehicles.
- The Radar Message Board records and displays vehicle speeds back to motorists.
- This traffic calming tool is an educational instrument designed to increase motorist awareness and safety.

South Oshawa Community Centre pool closed until further notice

The South Oshawa Community Centre (SOCC) pool (1455 Cedar St.) is closed for an extended time to assess and evaluate required repairs for the safe operation of the pool.
As a result, of the pool closure, the City will not offer aquatic programs at SOCC until repairs are complete. Additional swimming lessons will be available at the Civic Recreation Complex, Delpark Homes Centre, and Donevan Recreation Complex.

TeachingCity Oshawa releases Annual Snapshot highlighting local collaborative projects

The City of Oshawa and its education and research partners – Durham College, Ontario Tech University, Trent University Durham GTA, and the University of Toronto’s Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering – are pleased to announce that the TeachingCity Oshawa 2023/2024 Annual Snapshot, detailing accomplishments from the partnership’s seventh year, is now available online.
