Application period for the 2024 Oshawa Community Grant Program opens Nov.1

The City of Oshawa will begin accepting applications November 1 for the 2024 Community Grant Program, which provides support to community groups and organizations in Oshawa.
Oshawa City Council approved the new Community Grant Program in October 2021. It offers support under the following four programs:
- Arts, Culture and Heritage Events – funds to support the development and delivery of events, festivals, celebrations and gatherings in Oshawa.

Members of Council recently celebrated the opening of Oshawa’s newest outdoor space, Gold Point Wildlife Reserve.
Located at the southwest corner of Stevenson Road South and Philip Murray Avenue, Gold Point Wildlife Reserve is the City of Oshawa’s newest passive recreational destination.

The City of Oshawa is thrilled to have received a donation from CN Stronger Communities Fund to plant 15 native trees at Coldstream Park.
Coldstream Park is located at 1467 Coldstream Drive, northeast of Taunton Road and Grandview Street North and adjacent to Norman G. Powers Public School. The park features a playground, ball diamond, soccer fields and paved pathways.

The City of Oshawa and Oshawa Fire Services are pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Barlow as the City’s newest Deputy Fire Chief, effective October 23, 2023.
