Wildlife proof your property during coyote denning season

Oshawa community members may notice an increase in coyote sightings or activity at this time of the year as coyotes start denning to raise their pups in March and April.
Winter months are the mating period for coyotes, while in March they begin seeking out a den to rear their pups. To minimize encounters during this time, residents and property owners are encouraged to wildlife proof their property to prevent coyotes from denning.

New pedestrian bridge for Erie Park neighbourhood

With spring officially arriving, Ward 5 residents are making use of the newly constructed pedestrian bridge in Erie Park (43 Erie St.). The bridge connects pedestrians and cyclists to the City’s trail system.
Project highlights:
- new three-metre wide galvanized steel bridge with safety railings
- creek bank erosion measures
- new trees and shrubs
- repaved pathway with energy-efficient LED lighting leading up to the bridge

The Regional Municipality of Durham has begun construction for the replacement of existing watermain, sanitary and storm sewers, services connections, road reconstruction, and pavement rehabilitation on Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) from Olive Avenue to 20 metres north of Metcalfe Street in the City of Oshawa.
