Construction commences on Bond Simcoe Urban Square

The City of Oshawa is pleased to share that construction is underway on the Bond Simcoe Urban Square, located in downtown Oshawa at the intersection of Bond St. E. and Simcoe St. N. This innovative urban space is set to become a vibrant hub for community celebrations and events in the heart of our downtown.
Current work involves preparing the site for underground services (including demolition and removals, site excavation and site servicing), subgrade elevations, and granular base installation.
Metrolinx Notice: Albert Street watermain replacement

A new watermain will be installed across the Albert Street corridor as part of the Metrolinx Bowmanville Extension project.
Why: This work involves micro tunneling, a trenchless method that utilizes a guided boring system to install underground watermains. This watermain will be installed under the existing railway which will tie into the existing system at Fisher Street and Albany Street.

With spring in the air, it’s the perfect opportunity to be outside and active in our community by participating in the City’s annual Community Cleanup Week.
The kick-off week takes place April 22-25 and welcomes groups of all sizes who are interested in volunteering to clean up our parks, green spaces, trails and schoolyards. What: The Sidewalk on the South Side of Bond Street West between McMillan Drive and Park Road North will be closed to pedestrians for safety reasons.
When: From March 26, 2025 until further notice.
Where: South side of Bond Street West between McMillan Drive and Park Road North.
